This course is an outcome of a collaboration between the Transportation Safety Institute (TSI) of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and specialists in Part 395 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs): Hours of Service of Drivers. The training defines important terminology such as maximum driving time regulations and their exceptions, as well as the conditions under which a driver may be put Out-of-Service (OOS), and the criteria for the driver daily log (RODS). The training covers all of the knowledge and skills needed for CMV drivers to stay in compliance with the rules, and offers exercises on how to complete the Record of Duty Status. This course covers the legal standards as of July 2013.
